Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using devglow, todoglow, or noglow (collectively, "the Apps"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Apps.

2. Description of Services

devglow is a macOS menu bar application that helps developers run, monitor, and control dev processes. It provides features including one-click process start/stop, real-time log viewing, and port conflict detection.

todoglow is a macOS menu bar todo application with keyboard-first design, focus mode, and optional AI-powered text polishing.

noglow is a free, cross-platform (macOS, iOS, and Android) titleless scratchpad for quick notes, with color-coded slots, an archive, optional AI-assisted search, and optional cloud sync.

3. License

The paid Apps (devglow and todoglow) are sold as a one-time purchase with lifetime updates; we do not offer subscription plans. You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use each paid App on up to 3 personal Macs per license key (the standard activation limit applied by our payment provider, Polar).

noglow is free. You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use noglow on your personal devices at no charge.

Cloud sync (todoglow and noglow, opt-in) is a separate, supplementary service. There is no fixed per-account device cap on the sync service itself today, but see Section 5 for the personal-use condition and our right to apply rate limits if abuse is detected.

You may not redistribute, resell, or sublicense the Apps.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the Apps only for lawful purposes
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Apps
  • Not use the Apps to harm your system or others' systems
  • Comply with third-party terms when using optional features (e.g., Gemini or OpenAI APIs)

5. Account and Cloud Sync (todoglow and noglow, optional)

You can optionally create an account to sync your content between devices: in todoglow (from v1.9) by signing in with an email address, and in noglow by signing in with Apple, Google, or an email magic link. The Apps remain fully usable without an account.

When you use cloud sync, you agree that:

  • You sign in with an account you control (your email address, Apple ID, or Google account), and keep your sign-in session secure.
  • You are responsible for the todos, notes, and other content you sync.
  • Sync is intended for personal use across devices you own. You may not share a single account across multiple individuals (for example, as a team workspace or family share).
  • There is no fixed per-account device cap on sync today, but we may apply per-account rate limits or suspend the service if usage patterns indicate abuse (such as a single account syncing from an unusually large number of devices in parallel).
  • We may suspend or terminate access to the sync service if it is used to abuse our systems, violate these Terms, or break applicable law.
  • You can sign out individual devices at any time from Settings → Account → Devices, or request deletion of your account and synced data by emailing us.

6. Your Content

You retain all rights to your todos, time logs, notes, and any other content you create in the Apps. We do not claim ownership of your content. When you opt in to cloud sync, you grant us a limited license to transmit, store, and process your content solely for the purpose of operating the sync service on your behalf.

7. Third-Party Services

The Apps rely on the following third-party services. Your use of features that depend on them is also subject to their respective terms:

  • Polar (payment processing and license management for the paid Apps, powered by Stripe)
  • Cloudflare (hosts the cloud sync backend and database; applies only if you sign in)
  • Resend (delivers magic-link sign-in emails; applies only if you sign in)
  • Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In (optional sign-in providers for noglow cloud sync)
  • Google Gemini API and OpenAI API (optional AI text polishing in todoglow, using your own API key)

For AI Polish in particular, you are responsible for any costs associated with your own API usage.

8. Service Availability

The cloud sync service (todoglow and noglow) is provided on a best-effort basis without a formal uptime guarantee. We may perform maintenance, change implementation details, or discontinue the service with reasonable prior notice. Because each device keeps a local copy of your content, you can continue using the apps offline if the sync service is temporarily unavailable.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Apps are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Apps will be error-free or uninterrupted. Use of the Apps is at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall the creator be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of the use or inability to use the Apps.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Apps after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
